Black Rose
Dark, almost black color, with a prominent "Northwest" hop aroma – citrusy, piney and resinous. The body has some sweet malt flavors, with tiny hints of toasted malt and coffee. The finish is semi-dry, not heavy as in a porter or stout, the hop aromas and flavors are prominent, but the malt balance does not get lost in an onslaught of hops. When you close your eyes – it should not simply taste like an American IPA. A Rose by Any Other Name. It's been called black IPA, India black ale (IBA), or Cascadian dark ale (CDA). We call it Cascadian Dark, because in our Brewster's mind calling it "black IPA" as in "black India Pale Ale" is just confusing, also, this beer has no history of the British sailing to their colonies in India as the IPAs do. And what bartender can hear the difference between IBA and IPA anyway?? Dark and hoppy beers have been popping up all across the country over the past 10 years, many attribute them to Greg Noonan of the Vermont Pub and Brewery, others to John Maier of Rogue Ales. No matter where it originated, nor what it is called, the beer itself is always what is more important. "A rose by any other name would be as sweet... Notes of bread, banana, guava, citrus and flowers.
This one is brewed to Bavarian style. However, we love the citrusy guava notes of Cashmere hops from New Zealand hops and felt they would create a perfect backdrop for the
yeast and wheat. It's the firsts that you will never forget. The first kiss, the first lover, the first beer. One sunny, and warm day, after a long morning and afternoon hiking
with friends up and down the Kampenwand (near Aschau, Germany) we were thirsty and hungry. Like good Germans do, we ended up in a little Tavern at the foot of the mountain and ordered Pretzels, radishes, meat and Obazda.
Someone bought the first round of beer, and to my horror, I was confronted with an unusually large glass of golden, milky and frothy liquid – Hefeweizen! Beer seemed bitter and unapproachable to my young palate, but as we said
"Prost!" I decided to politely suck it up - literally. Surprisingly this reminded me of the aromas wafting out of a German bakery or Konditorei; aromas of fresh baked crusty bread, sweet tarts, fruits and spices. What was not to like
about these flavors and aromas? And so I enjoyed my very first beer. We hope this one transports you to the Bakeries of Germany.

INSTANT KRUSH
We didn't want to be the ones to forget Krush. So we didn't.
This hazy little number came together around those beautifully expressive Krush hops — pineapple, mango, guava — the kind of aromatics that hit instantly and linger longer than you planned.
We lifted it with a touch of Citra, like a squeeze of lemon over tropical fruit, just to keep things bright and honest.
Soft haze. Clean finish. No overthinking it.

If you're from Texas, this part may feel fictional: a short season between winter and spring, when it's still cool outside but already bright. This beer was brewed for that moment.

Lagered cold for weeks until it behaves.

On the nose, vibrant malty aromas of freshly baked, Brötchen, light toasted barley and gentle noble hop aromas of dried wildflowers. Hella is cleanly fermented and the plate follows the nose with pleasantly sweet notes of kneaded biscuit dough and a hint of nuttiness. Homebrew competition winner by Dan Gomez. This Pale Ale, brewed with the Pink Boots Society hop blend, carries a bit of that spirit. Pink Boots supports women and non-binary individuals in brewing, and their scholarship support helped launch Künstler in our early days. So this one feels personal.

Gorlami
Pilsner - Italian ⁄ 6.0% ABV ⁄ 32 IBU ⁄ San Antonio, TX
Gorlami
This Crispy Bambino is brewed with Bohemian. floor-malted pilsner malt. It pours in a beautiful straw color, with a fluffy white head. Aromas of whole grain bread crust, clean malt character, and grassy, herbal notes greet your nose. These flavors follow on the palate, with a balanced sweetness and generous, noble hop bite consisting of floral, lemon and pineapple notes.
This is a slow pour, and the wait is worth it, because not everything in life should be rushed. Don't know what a slow pour is? Ask your server while you patiently wait. Still in a rush? Order another beer while you wait.
What exactly is an Italian Pilsner you ask? It's about the same as an Italian Brad Pitt. There's not a single Italian ingredient in this beer. Italian pils are light in color, clean in body, unfiltered and defined by dry hopping, which imparts subtle, but European hop character.

The intention was to build a Lager from the ground up (think Helles, or Festbier) that would accept a higher level of hopping, in the form of loads of old school and new school hop varieties. Then to tuck it into cold storage for six weeks (also called: to lager), and to wait patiently. The final result is a "Crispy Boi" with magnificent hop aroma, clean assertive bitterness, and a bold clean finish that makes you crave another sip.
Hopped with German Grüngeist hops, for their old world floral aroma and flavors of peach and passion fruit. Hallertau Mittelfrüh (spicy, herbal), and Azacca (mango and citrus).

Johnny Rye Ale
Pale Ale- American⁄ 5.7 ABV
A very traditional, easy going pale ale. The rye gives a nice bit of spice and compliments the elegant hops, love, gratitude and thoughtfulness used. Well done Starr!
You'll see Starr washing windows at a quarter to four (cause he aint gonna work on Maggie's farm no more,) and while we're sure he's mostly phoneless, thanks to you he sure ain't homeless. He's got some mean brew'in skills, so he gave this Brewster a break and took a spin on the stainless, while singing Johnny Ryall. Johnny Rye Ale is what he produced. Now if you ask him to sing it, he will, over and over, and you may just have to give him fitty cents to stop.Pale Ale- American⁄ 5.7 ABV

My Dad's favorite beer was a good, dry pilsner . Any other lager he considered "Frauen Bier." Along withPilsners, my dad was passionate about jazz, whiskey, fishing, and he played a mean game of spades. He also loved to "Kegel Bowl" (look it up). Sadly, my dad was never able to taste my beers. I have the feeling if he could taste this one, he'd take a nice long sip and whisper: " Ahhh, das its sin Bier!"

Moderate to heavy acidity is backed with fruity sweetness and biscuity malt character. Blackberries lend a slightly sweet, earthy undertone, and a plum purple hue. We added a hefty charge of dry hops, choosing to compliment and mimic berry flavors. Sweetness, acidity, and bitterness are all in balance, no sip shifting too far in one direction.
In a perfect world, streusel would be sprinkled on top of
everything including all your meals, your car, and your head.

Our Künster family (yes that's you) loves our German Styles so much, we decided to brew a bit of a hard to find style.
Dortmunder Export is a soft-textured beer, influenced by the Pilsner. After WWII, Export was the most popular type of beer in Germany until 1970, when it was supplanted by Pils. The Dortmunder was originally brewed by Dortmunder Union in Dortmund ,Germany, in 1873

Sassenach
In true Irish tradition this Red is a balanced, easy-drinking pint, with a moderate malt character full of caramel, and toasted notes. The reddish copper color comes from both crystal malt and a small dose of roasted barley. The balanced hop character and roasted notes play well with the slightly sweet overall character...you finish the pint, and in true Irish fashion, it begs for you to order another.Because his impromptu descriptors are often so much fun, I will quote our old assistant brewer Ethan on this:
"It tastes great, like a combination of chocolate and fresh leather" ..well,
who wouldn't want to drink their chocolate out of leather mugs?

A very traditional, easy going pale ale. The rye gives a nice bit of spice and compliments the elegant hops, love, gratitude and thoughtfulness used. Well done Starr!
You'll see Starr washing windows at a quarter to four (cause he aint gonna work on Maggie's farm no more,) and while we're sure he's mostly phoneless, thanks to you he sure ain't homeless. He's got some mean brew'in skills, so he gave this Brewster a break and took a spin on the stainless, while singing Johnny Ryall. Johnny Rye Ale is what he produced. Before Künstler, Southtown, and before the beer in the year of 2005, a little band called Heavy Heavy Low Low released "Courtside Seats" - it's the sound that reminds us of our youth. When we found out that they were touring TX we decided to take a stab in the dark and ask if they'd be interested in a Beer Collaboration, the opportunity was pretty sick.
Metal is something that runs deep for the Künstler Krew. We're excited to be releasing this collaboration with what we collectively consider to be one of our favorite bands, Heavy Heavy Low Low.
Get ready for the Texas Chainsaw IPA, with original can art from Robbie.
This is a Triple IPA and reminds us a bit of…well you know the one, down in Santa Rosa CA, because that is Robbie's favorite beer.
